It has been Astley Youth Band's dream, for many years, to build a Community Hub which will house a Bandroom, with all the necessary storage and rehearsal facilities, to build a secure future for the bands and the people in the local area. Well, it’s fast becoming a reality! They have recently secured a large sum of funding for a pre-feasibility study and they are now negotiating a piece of land. The next stage is to apply for large scale funding from the Arts Council, National Lottery and many other sources recommended by a professional fundraising team. They have a live petition which they are asking local people and those who live further afield to sign, to say you think the community hub is a sound project. It will not disclose any personal details, and the signatures will be used simply to add weight to the funding applications.
