If you follow us on Twitter you will have already seen Awards for Young Musicians. If you aren’t following us on Twitter you can use the link on the bottom of the page to do so. Awards for Young Musicians are currently inviting applications from instrumentalists aged 5-17 to join their 2016 Awards Programme. They help musically talented young people, from lower-income families, overcome the barriers they face in music-making and fulfilling their potential. As well as receiving flexible funding towards the costs of their musical development (up to £2,000), award winners will benefit from individual support, which may comprise of mentoring, workshops and master classes with professional musicians, opportunities to observe rehearsals with professional orchestras and other musical partners, and performance opportunities. Young musicians and their families can check whether they are eligible to apply for an award by completing a quick pre-application questionnaire. The deadline for applications is Friday 18 March 2016 and awards will be announced in May 2016. How to apply
