Legends in Brass

Some months ago, Mike Kilmartin of Hatfield Band, was toying with the idea of organising a "benefit" concert. After considering which charity would benefit from the proceeds raised, he decided with a good friend who has been diagnosed with breast cancer and one of his oldest friends Joanne Sykes needing help for her son, Stephen, all the monies raised will be donated to Breast Cancer Now through “Boobs & Brass” and the "Save Stephen" fund, which will help towards purchasing further treatment for Stephen. Some of the "greats" of the brass banding world; Alan Morrison, Mark Walters, Stephen Sykes and Kevin Holdgate have very happily agreed to help out as guest soloists for the evening. So, the “Legends in Brass” fundraising concert will feature the Hatfield Band with Stan Lippeat (a legend himself) hosting, conducting and compering the evening. Askern Miners Welfare has very kindly offered the venue free of charge. During the evening, Hatfield Band will be performing the "Acrobat Challenge" and any trombone player attending the concert is very welcome to bring their instrument along and be part of this. Stephen`s mum, Joanne, will be conducting this piece. Mike hopes that a substantial amount can be raised for these two very worthy causes and hopes that you can come and support this event. Saturday 22nd July 2017 at 7:30pm Tickets are £10, children under 5 go free. Askern Welfare Manor Way, Askern, Doncaster DN6 0AJ
