Welcome to our New April Members

With new initiatives such as Bandsafe and the BBE Virtual Box Office we are happy to welcome three new members this month. Egham Youth Band (EYB) was formed in January 2016 following the promotion of the Band's existing Training Band that was formed in September of 2010. The Band currently consists of over 20 talented young players ranging from ages 9 to 16. EYB draws players from a wide area encompassing North Surrey, East Berkshire and West Middlesex. The band is very fortunate to have had players joining on a wide range of instruments and are therefore able to play a variety of music scored for brass band, ranging from music by The Beatles to film scores. EYB have made many local appearances throughout the year under MD Gareth Green. Pencoed Silver Band is a community-based concert brass band that is for anyone who can or wants to play a brass musical instrument without the pressures of contesting; to have fun in making live music and performing in the community. We enjoy full charitable status and perform fundraising concerts for the likes of The British Legion, Help the Heroes. This year we have helped raise money for Tenovus a number of our banders have been directly affected by cancer and are grateful for the support Tenovus has provided for their families at a very difficult time. Sound House Brass is a thriving and enthusiastic 2nd section brass band based in Plymouth, Devon. Formed over 90 years ago, the band was originally known as the Plymouth City Mission Band. The present title was introduced in 2002 following a move to the purpose built music facility in The Soundhouse at Tor Bridge High Community College, Plymouth. The band performs at a range of events and concerts throughout the year, and also takes part in various brass band competitions across the south-west. Remember, if you are a member and you have a story you'd like us to share, please let us know.
