Fodens Announce new non-competitive youth festival

Foden's have now confirmed final details in relation to its non competitive Youth Festival to be held on Sunday 28th October at Sandbach School commencing at 10am

Speaking about the Festival Mark Wilkinson commented 'In May 2016 Foden’s were successful in an application to Arts Council England  for a ‘Three Year Strategic Music and Audience Development Plan’ included was a non-competitive Youth Festival. The Festival is a further extension to the Youth Development work that the band is under taking. Stockport Schools, Foden's Junior, Foden's Youth and Lions Junior will each provide a 30 minute programme of their choice. Despite the Festival being non competitive we are pleased that Foden's have entered into a partnership with Aobba with their trainee member Jonny Bates providing written comments as part of his training and to assist the bands in their development. After the various performances Foden's Principals will lead masterclasses involving all the participants concluding with a gala concert featuring Foden’s Band and the young musicians.'

'The day will be supported by trade stands from Instrument Manufactures, Conservatoires, Instrument repairers, Army Musicians and Music Publishers with hot food and a tuck shop being provided. During the dinner break Foden's Tenor Horn player Nat Martin will provide a Magic Show!!!. We can accommodate more trade stands who would like to attend and are still looking for an event sponsor.'

'Entry to the performances, master classes, magic show and gala concert is free to under '18 with a £10 admission charge to over 18's which is payable on the door.'

Mark concluded 'We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to Sandbach for a fun and musically rewarding day with each youth band supporting each other in their performances.'
