Steve has been Musical Director of Royston Town Band since 2008 leading the band at contests and concerts, and in recent years developing online video and audio content to engage a wider audience. He is especially proud to have been MD for the band's 150th anniversary year and to have helped maintain the band through the Covid pandemic.
Previously MD of East London Brass, Steve has held conducting positions with Milton Keynes Brass and Chatteris Town Band, and has worked with many bands across Cambridgeshire on a freelance basis.
As a player, Steve has been a member of the bass sections of Redbridge, Regent Brass, MK Brass, Travelsphere, Soham Comrades, and Raunds Temperance Band among others.
Steve has a MusB (Hons) from Manchester University where he studied under John Casken and David Fanning.
