Wantage Silver Band is a Registered Charity dedicated to education in music by practice and performance. For a modest subscription anyone of any age will be taught to play an instrument and to work together as a band. There are bands to suit all abilities. The Charity strives for the highest standard by once or twice weekly practices with experienced conductors. This approach helps sustain the Brass Band Movement which started in the UK over 150 years ago and is part of Britain’s cultural and musical heritage, providing not only entertainment for the community at large, but also valuable educational and social benefits for all those who participate
