Bold as Brass 2025 - contest entry

The Bold as Brass contest will return in 2025, offering an exciting day out for bands and supporters at the National Coal Mining Museum for England’s Wakefield site. Bands in the Second section and under are invited to participate in the contest.

Bold as Brass is a free-entry entertainment contest for bands in the second section and under. The 2025 event will take place on Saturday 7 June.

Competing bands will be asked to perform a march and a 20-minute entertainment programme. A non-competitive section will also take place, available for bands who wish to perform without the pressure of competing. 

All performances will be adjudicated (non-competing bands will not be ranked) and trophies will be awarded to winning bands. The full range of prizes will be announced soon.
