Pearl Fisher's duet, Bizet - David and Robert Childs, Euphonium.
The Euphonium is a instrument that was developed in the mid 1800s alongside other brass instruments such as the cornet and flugelhorn.
Whilst there is a lot of music written just for the Euphonium, often brass instruments have music ‘arranged’ for them from music that was written for other instruments or voices. Here’s this famous vocal solo from an opera called “The Pearl Fishers“ is played by this father and son duo, Dr Robert Childs and Professor of Euphonium, David Childs.
