During the Brass Bands England National Youth Brass Band Championships in April, we met cornet soloist and rising brass superstar Ela Haf Williams. Here's the latest about Ela and her band, Ysgol Bontnewydd Primary, as shared with us by Ela's mum, Danielle.
Ela and the band participated in the world-famous Urdd Eisteddfod, an immensely competitive and popular event, with participants from the whole of Wales. Ela competed in 3 competitions - Ensemble, Brass Band and Solo: Ela and the band won 1st prize in all three events. The band were crowned champions for the second year in a row.
Ela played La Belle Americaine in the brass solo competition- in which the adjudicator simply wrote on his adjudication "Wow!"
Brass Bands England congratulates all young players who took part in the Eisteddford.
