Brass Bands England Announces New Career Opportunities

Brass Bands England is seeking to appoint a number of talented individuals in a range of newly-created roles. The creation of these roles has been made possible by the £227,189 awarded as part of the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund (CRF) to help face the challenges of the Coronavirus pandemic.

BBE’s Education and Development Co-ordinator, Sarah Baumann, commented: “The invaluable funding received as part of the Culture Recovery Fund allows us to create a number of projects that will benefit bands of all levels. This includes the recruitment of 5 brass specialists as part of the ‘Brass Foundations’ youth project to support tuition in local bands in their area, create educational resources, find new ways to recruit young players and form strong links between youth bands and Music Hubs in their community. We know that many Hubs have seen a reduction in uptake for brass tuition from schools, and so we feel this opportunity will be invaluable in ensuring young people continue to take up brass instruments and find their love of music within their local brass band.”

As part of this education programme, Brass Bands England is keen to hear from bands across England wanting to take part in the scheme. All enquiries can be directed to Sarah Baumann on sarah@bbe.org.uk.

In addition to the opportunities created as part of the Brass Foundations youth project, Brass Bands England is also seeking to recruit a Digital Marketing, Communications and PR Manager to promote not only the work of Brass Bands England, but the brass banding sector as a whole and a Digital Training Resource Co-ordinator to manage the creation of a host of new training resources on a range of topics, and continue the development of Brass Bands England’s popular webinar series.

Applications for all positions should be received by 12.00 noon on Friday 6 November. Interviews for all roles will be held between Tuesday 10 and Thursday 12 November. Full details on the above posts can be found at www.bbe.org.uk/careers.

In addition to the roles announced today, there are further consultancy and employment opportunities to be advertised in the coming weeks.
