Start the new year with new training from BBE

Spring training and events from Brass Bands England
Thursday, 5 January, 2023

With returns to band rehearsals and a new school term upon us, now is the perfect time to register onto one of our training and networking events taking place from January right up until the end of the season.

The busy schedule sees a varied programme, which includes free and discounted training for bands and individuals who are members of BBE.

Events include a series of webinars, drop-in and networking sessions, in-depth training sessions on the topics of safeguarding and band governance, and selected events that are free for all to attend.

I'm not a member, can I participate?

Most events are open to non-BBE members at a fee. We also invite everyone, including non-members, to join us for Conducting into the Future on Wednesday 18 January, hosted by the Brass Band Conductors’ Association, all about the essentials of running a youth band. A free webinar on 7 March will also prove the chance to hear more about our plans for the 2023-2026 period.

Member benefits

Brass Bands England Members have some excellent benefits for the events series, with access to all Webinars and Drop-In Sessions free of charge, discounted rates for BandSafe training and exclusive access to Band Governance Bootcamp.

Book now to secure your place

Attendance at our events is limited so booking early is advised.

BBE’s Development and Education Manager, Sarah Baumann, commented: BBE’s Education and Development Manager, Sarah Baumann, commented: “Online training, networking and information sharing events continue to be a core part of our learning programme. Working with young people continues to be a highly requested topic from our members, and we’re delighted to partner with BBCA to cover this area in our first webinar back in 2023. Although we currently only have 2 BandSafe dates in the diary, there will be more and they will be confirmed once our new Safeguarding Officer is in post in the new year.

Sarah continued: “We know that members are eager to hear more about BBE’s plans for 2023-2026 following our successful Arts Council England application, and there are opportunities to do that both in person and online in Spring.”

Any topics you would like to see featured in future events or members resources can be suggested via email to events@bbe.org.uk.
