Your chance to share your work at this year’s conference.
The Brass Band Conference is an annual event and awards ceremony providing an opportunity for brass banders from across the country to learn, share and network. The Conference is for everyone involved in the world of banding. To ensure the programme reflects this, conference organiser Brass Bands England is seeking input from leading voices in the community.
The next conference will be held at The University of Huddersfield on Saturday 7 October 2023 on the theme of Heritage and Innovation. The theme ties in with the opening of the Brass Bands Archive to the public, which will take place in 2023 at the university’s Heritage Quay records management and archive site.
BBE’s Education and Development Manager Sarah Baumann commented: “This year’s conference theme and location is centred around the Brass Bands Archive’s new home. The event will offer a chance for banders to convene to celebrate our art-form’s past as well as look towards the future. Repertoire will be a large focus of this year’s discussions, as well as innovative banding in all its forms.”
Submit your proposal
Brass Bands England staff and trustees are now inviting relevant proposals for content sessions that can be delivered, from the brass banding community and beyond, that seek to share best practice and promote forward-thinking ideas. The aim is to curate a diverse, inspiring programme of talks, practical workshops and creative elements that open up discussion and encourages critical reflection.
