We are pleased to announce the theme, date and location for The Brass Band Conference 2023. In the closing speech of the day at today's Brass Band Conference 2022, Chairman Mike Kilroy confirmed that the conference would take place at The University of Huddersfield on Saturday 7 October 2023. Following previous conference themes of ‘Better Banding for All’, ‘Resilience and Sustainability’, ‘Improving Our Art’ and ‘Banding for Life’, the 2023 conference will focus on ‘Heritage and Innovation’.
Education and Development Manager Sarah Baumann commented: “Next year’s theme will bring focus to banding heritage and tradition, whilst looking at how we move forward and the steps we still have to take. Due to the Brass Bands Archive moving to its new home at Heritage Quay, we felt it was only right to centre the conference around it.”
Further information about ticket booking, opportunities to present and sponsorship opportunities will be announced in early 2023. Please add to the date to your diary now.
Sarah continued “As we have done this year, we will be running an open call for contributors in early 2023, and would encourage anyone considering submitting a proposal to present on this theme to get in touch for an informal conversation.”
