Making the most of Tipd: promotion, adding members, tracking donations

We’ve recently launched a new partnership with Tipd, the cashless platform that helps your band seamlessly collect donations. Hopefully you’ve set-up your Tipd account with the help of our previous blog and are now ready to start making the most of Tipd’s nifty features. 

Tipd not only allows your band to gather digital donations at the tap of a button (100% of the donations, no less!). You can also add team members to the profile, delve into donations analytics and even set custom messages for your donators. 

 

Where can I use Tipd?

Tipd allows your band to collect cash-free donations via card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The two main ways to do this are by:

  • QR code. Print your unique Tipd QR code onto any displays used during performances e.g. stickers, signs, banners, leaflets, posters. Customers scan the code on their device and pay in a matter of clicks.
  • Profile link. Add your Tipd profile link to your website, newsletter emails, social media etc. Customers can click on the link to make a donation.

Some ideas for where to share your band’s Tipd profile:

  • On email newsletters sharing your upcoming performance schedule 
  • On the printed programme of your band’s annual concert 
  • On stands and donation buckets during al fresco performances
  • On leaflets handed out during Christmas carolling
  • On any trusty banners used to accompany live performances
  • On social media posts – let people know you’re using Tipd and follow-up live performances with a thank you/photo/link to Tipd

 

Managing team members 

Once your organisation’s Tipd account is up and running, you may wish to add additional team admins. Additional admins do not need to have their identity verified. This is ideal if you want more than one person involved in monitoring donations.

To manage your account’s team members:

  • From the Home Screen, click on ‘Team Options’ > ‘Members’
  • At the top of the screen, click ‘Add Admin’ and enter the individual’s email address
  • Tipd will send an email inviting this user to sign up and join the team

If at any point you would like to remove a member, simply click on the information icon for the member you’d like to change and choose the relevant option. 

 

Tracking donations

Once your donations have begun rolling in, you’ll want to keep an eye on your Team Dashboard. This is where you can track donations and even view statistics over different periods of time. For example, you can use analytics to work out which type of performance venue tends to get your band the highest number of donations! 

 

Other handy features

Tipd has a host of useful features brass bands may wish to use, including:

  • Quick tips. Use pre-set donation suggestions (e.g. £2, £5, £10) to make the donation process as quick and smooth as possible. 
  • Team profile message. Personalise the message customers see on your profile page when deciding what to tip. Short and polite is perfect!
  • Team thank you message. Personalise the message donators see after they have donated. Show your appreciation and signpost them on where else they can find your band. 

These functions, and more, are all available under ‘Settings’ > ‘My Teams’.
