About this event

Every year, more than 200,000 people march in Britain’s biggest celebration of trade union and community values – the Durham Miners’ Gala! It's a celebration of the County’s mining heritage and the past we inherit - but also, the future future we create. Hosted by the Durham Miners Association (DMA) since 1871, the Gala is the world's greatest celebration of community, international solidarity, and working class life. It is a unique and inspiring spectacle. We start at the Market Place square and move on to including the Old Racecourse and Durham Cathedral - please click the link below to see this year's schedule. So join us for the 138th Durham Miners Gala will take place on Saturday 13 July, we'd love to see you there! Photo cr. Neil Terry Photography.
