National Youth and Children's Concert Bands - Spring Concert 2024

A spectacular showcase of wind music played by the UK’s leading youth wind bands. From the music of Gustav Holst to that of John Williams, Adam Broughton and the National Children’s Concert Band explore a wide-ranging and enthralling programme. The National Youth Concert Band and Music Director, Jonathan Parkes, perform an eclectic programme including a celebration of Stephen Dodgson in his 40th anniversary year. They are joined by BBC Symphony Orchestra Principal Trombonist, Helen Vollam, in a performance of BAFTA-nominated composer, Grant Kirkhope’s Trombone Concerto, ‘Kirkfeld’.
