Brass Bands Project Fund

The Brass Bands Project Fund is part of #BrassBandsAtChristmas, a national initiative launched by BBE in partnership with Crowdfunder, to support brass bands across the country. Members of Brass Bands England can apply directly for access to the funds raised by BBE to support your projects that:

  • Encourage participation in brass banding for young people

  • Involve commissioning and creation of new works for brass bands

  • Focus on making the brass banding community more inclusive and diverse

  • Support bands in need of emergency funds to survive

Our Project Fund grants are designed to be used as match funding against larger funding applications such as Arts Council England Project Grants, but also to support bands who apply for financial help in a time of crisis.

Who can apply for the Brass Bands Project Fund?

The Brass Bands Project Fund is open to all bands who currently hold BBE Band Membership. If you have an innovative project and think that the fund could help you deliver it, but you’re not sure whether you should apply or whether your band is eligible to do so, please do get in touch with the BBE team for an informal chat at info@bbe.org.uk or by calling 01226 771 015.

How to apply for the Brass Bands Project Fund

Details of how to apply to the fund and timescales for decisions to be made will be announced in January, after the #BrassBandsAtChristmas crowdfunding period.

To speak to a member of the BBE team about your project idea, please email the BBE office at info@bbe.org.uk.

Documentary evidence will be requested to support all applications, which will be subject to approval by designated Brass Bands England Trustees, whose decision will be final.
