About this event

The event is the private launch of Sound! Music Hub, the new hub for music education across the Liverpool City Region and Warrington.

Sound! Music Hub brings together a fantastic set of local music services and multiple other partners to deliver high quality music education on the ground, ensuring every child and young person has access to the transformative power of music.

At this event, we’ll be bringing together children from across the Liverpool City Region and Warrington for a number of special collaborative performances including a choir of primary school students and a special one-off performance of original material created by secondary school students - with more performances to be announced. You’ll also hear from the Liverpool City Region’s Metro Mayor, Steve Rotheram, and the Sound! Music Hub team will provide exciting updates, along with the opportunity to meet the new members of our Hub Youth Board

As a new entity, Sound! Music Hub is committed to building on the existing strong foundations of music education in the region, enhancing current offerings and ensuring that all young people have access to diverse musical opportunities, including digital music initiatives and career progression pathways.

What is Sound! Music Hub?

Sound! Music Hub is the newly established Music Hub for Liverpool City Region and Warrington, providing high-quality music education to all young people. Led by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, it works with local music services and organisations to ensure equal access to music education for all young people.

With £2.6M in funding from Department for Education (administered by Arts Council England) for 2024-2025, the hub covers Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Warrington an offers diverse music opportunities aligned with the national plan for music education. Sound! Music hub aims to enhance current offerings, expand access to digital music and strengthen pathways from education to music careers. You can read more here.
